Why Tint Your Windshield

It is the largest piece of glass on the vehicle and it faces the sun the whole drive. A clear ceramic film blocks infrared and UV without changing how dark the glass looks, so the cabin cools faster and the dash stops cooking.

We cut it to your exact windshield, install it below the trim and inspect it before the keys go back. Same lifetime warranty as the rest of our film, against bubbling, peeling, cracking, fading and purpling, for as long as you own the vehicle.

Why Tint Your Windows

Heat

Ceramic film blocks infrared, which is the part of sunlight you feel. The cabin cools down faster and the air conditioning stops fighting the glass.

UV

99% UV rejection. That is the part that burns skin on a long drive and the part that fades a dashboard until it cracks.

Glare

Low sun coming over the ridges is the worst of it here. Film cuts the glare without making the road harder to read at night.

Privacy

What is on your back seat stops being everybody's business in a parking lot.

Interior

Leather, vinyl and plastic all give up under direct sun. Film buys the interior years.

Glass

Film holds broken glass together instead of letting it come apart into the cabin.

What North Carolina allows on a windshield

The windshield is the strictest part of the law and it has no exemptions. Tint along the top only, no more than five inches down or to the AS-1 line, whichever is longer. That applies to every vehicle, including the pickups and SUVs that get an exemption on their other windows.

The one thing the statute allows across the whole windshield is a clear film with no tint that cuts ultraviolet. That is what most of our windshield work is, and it is why you get the heat rejection without a legality problem.

How we handle it

We install to the legal limit as standard, and we tell you where the line is before anything is cut. If you hold a DMV medical exception permit we install to what your permit allows.

Anything you ask for beyond the legal limit is your call and your responsibility, including any citation or inspection issue that comes from it. We do not take responsibility for the legality of a windshield tint requested outside those limits.

Heavy Equipment And Off-Road Cabs

Excavators, loaders, dozers and skid steers spend the day in glass boxes pointed at the sun. An operator can be in that seat ten or twelve hours, and none of the road-use limits apply to a machine that never touches a highway.

That means we can go as dark as the operator wants. Less glare on the boom, less squinting at the end of a shift, and a cab that is not thirty degrees hotter than the air outside. Eye strain is the complaint we hear first, and it is the one film fixes fastest.

We tint on site or in the shop, one machine or a whole yard. Haywood County businesses can set up a commercial account at discounted rates.

How It Works

The difference between a tint job that lasts and one that peels is almost entirely in the prep and the cut. Here's what happens while we have your vehicle.

Holding a window tint sample card against a pickup truck door glass during a consultation in Canton, NC
01

Consultation

We hold samples against your glass and talk through what you're after: privacy, heat, looks, or all three. Then we pick the shade and film that gets you there.

Deep cleaning vehicle door glass before window film installation in Canton, NC
02

Prep

Window sills come off. Every piece of glass gets deep cleaned down to a contamination-free surface. Skip this and you get the specks and creases you see on cheap installs.

Plotter cutting window tint film to a vehicle-specific pattern in Canton, NC
03

Precision Cut

Film is plotter-cut to your vehicle's exact year and model. When there's no pattern in the software, we hand-cut it for a proper fit with no light gaps.

Squeegeeing window film onto a vehicle's rear glass during installation in Canton, NC
04

Install & Cure

Film is laid below the window sills by our technicians and heat-shrunk where the glass curves. Then a full inspection before the keys go back in your hand.

Give it two days before you roll the windows down. A little haziness or a few moisture pockets in the first week are normal and cure out around day seven. If they don't, bring it back and we'll take care of it.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will a windshield film make it harder to see at night?

Not with the clear ceramic we use. It has no visible darkness, so nothing changes about how the glass reads at night. Darkening a windshield is what causes night visibility problems, which is part of why the law restricts it.

How much heat does it actually stop?

Ceramic film blocks infrared, which is the part of sunlight you feel as heat. The difference is most obvious on a car that has been parked in the sun and on long drives where the air conditioning is fighting the windshield the whole way.

Can you tint an excavator or a skid steer?

Yes, and we do it often. Machines that never operate on a highway are not subject to the road-use tint limits, so the film can go as dark as the operator wants. We work on single machines and whole yards.

How long does a windshield take?

Most windshield film is done the same day. Give it two days before cleaning the inside of the glass, and expect slight haziness in the first week while it cures out.

What does the warranty cover?

A lifetime warranty against bubbling, peeling, cracking, fading and turning purple, for as long as you own the vehicle. It is our warranty, not the film manufacturer's. The only thing that voids it is the film being tampered with.
